Pre-debut
Before joining SB19, Josh supported himself by working as a computer technician and a call center agent. He was heavily involved in the local competitive dance scene and frequently cosplayed K-pop idols. He and his future bandmate Stell joined a dance cover group called SE-EON, where they won seven different competitions together. His path changed in 2016 after he passed an audition for ShowBT, a South Korean entertainment company forming a new boy band. He spent the next two years doing vocal and dance training before officially debuting in 2018.
